Striving for the Summit.
Teams assume the role of an Expedition Team on a multi-level expedition with the assistance of a custom-built application. Fun and interesting tasks earn the team points and level advancement. Different positions include ‘Climbers' and The Expedition Leader, who must blend the diverse directions and understanding of each. The final objective is to go successfully from Base Camp to the summit and snap a jubilant team picture “on top.” There are opportunities to incorporate diverse physical challenges, company-specific questions, and a robust CSR element in the challenge. Effective communication, swift decision-making, and strategic planning in relation to Risk vs. Reward are transferrable learning outcomes.
Outcomes of Learning
By assuming the role of a virtual Expedition team in a simulation that is both entertaining and time-sensitive, teams are able to investigate the new rules of engagement and become more effective virtual team players. Important learning outcomes include effective communication, speedy decision making, and strategic planning about Risk vs. Reward. The enjoyable shared experience of problem-solving, inventiveness, and a team's emphasis on the ultimate objective — the Summit! It is an immersive engagement for teams that is immediately transferrable to the workplace.
